Before venturing into entrepreneurship, I held the role of general manager at a multi-seven figure business with 100 team members on the Gold Coast, Australia. My focus was on refining processes, motivating the team, and mastering the art of effective delegation to foster business growth. Five years ago, after welcoming my son into the world, I took a leap and founded my own event planning agency. Let me tell you, building a business from scratch without investors while trying to balance personal life and family commitments was no easy feat.

Initially, I thought pushing myself harder would be enough, but soon realised that trying to do everything alone wasn't sustainable. I needed a different approach; I needed support. So, I revisited my leadership knowledge and made my first hire. And believe me, it made all the difference! Months later, my event clients and fellow entrepreneurs sought my advice on hiring and wondered if my team could assist them with admin and marketing tasks. They wanted to avoid the hassle of recruitment and the legal responsibilities that came with employing full-time staff. Moreover, they couldn't spare 25+ hours to dedicate to a new team member.

When COVID struck in 2020, my event business faced challenging times. After much contemplation, I decided to pivot and, alongside a close friend, founded Collab Teamsβ€”an endeavor that brought my journey full circle. Now, I have the privilege of helping service providers streamline their processes and master delegation, allowing them to step back into their CEO roles and nurture the business of their dreams.
